TACOMA
OPERA
At the peak of the 19th century, the Tacoma Method was praised as an effective method to eradicate Chinese communities on the West Coast. This is the operatic retelling of Tacoma's dark history.

On November 3, 1885, Tacoma's mayor rallied 500 white citizens to march through Tacoma’s Chinatown. They stopped at every Chinese business and residence and ordered the occupants to leave. What remained of the once prominent Chinese community was burned to the ground.
